I am an antinomian, brothers. :-)
What this means is not as the definition of the word seems to imply, which is "anti nomia" or "against law" and was given as a negative title to people like me by people who disagree, but that I do not believe our failure to meet up to some abstract standard is detrimental to us beyond our life here on Earth. To put it in fine, I do not believe that to enter heaven, we must meet some requirements that we ourselves must achieve. However tempting it be, I shall not use threats against other people's salvation to get them to recognize some standards in their lives, however Biblical I think them to be.
I do not believe salvation could work in such a situation where there are things required of the human, for we would surely fail and by that God's plan of salvation would become His offer of salvation, with Him having only done the part that was impossible for us so that we can complete the rest. No, it's not that complex. God leaves nothing to you, but to bear fruit worthy of one who has received such a gift and, oh, what a gift it is! :-)
That so being, we have a certain obligation of bearing fruit, for "..anyone knowing to do good, and not doing it, it is sin to him", ( Jam 4:17 ). Do you know to read the Bible? Do it. Do you know that pure religion is visiting the orphans and widows in their afflictions? Do it. Not do it "or else..", but do it for the love of Christ that is in you! As Paul said, "..the love of Christ constrains us.." It holds us in our places, to do good as it were exerting the weight of our indebtedness to Him, for His purposes and glory! We have no more right to live in the flesh, as Christ has indeed rescued us, why then would we, being free from so terrible a resignation, walk anymore therein? It mocks the gift given us and despises the riches of His lovingkindness!
If I were to give you a beautiful set of clothing to wear and you refused to wear it, preferring instead to wear the rags to which you were previously resigned, almost as if I had shown no mercy and had given you no gift, am I offended? Is this not even all the same situation as we have in Christ? Did not Christ free us from the death that is for those who live in the flesh? Do we then prefer to live still in the flesh even as though He had no effect on us and had not saved our lives? God forbid it to be so and God help us to live in the Spirit gifted us.
It is so hard for me to even want to live in the Spirit even now, after having been saved for years. O, I would very much covet your prayers, siblings in Christ! O, how I thirst and have need of them! O, to know a brother or sister in Christ is praying for me! How it would thrill me! :-)
I'm interested in theology, philosophy, history, life, and wives. If you remain here long enough, you'll probably hear something about each of these things.

About Me

- polemic turtle
- turtle believes his Bible, loves His God, and is being divinely conformed unto the image of God's Son, though if one were to think in terms of Romans 9, turtle would confess that he is a very stubborn and brittle piece of clay. thankfully, the Potter works omnipotently for turtle's good and shows him mercy and grace every day.

Ah, how true, how true. And timely too. I was just finishing up that book you gave my brother about grace by Spurgeon. Ah, how nice it is to know that no matter what we do we can't mess that up.
I shall be praying for you and I hope you shall do the same for me. ;) After all, as our counselor, Steven, told me the other week, we're accountability partners, right?

You need to register, Andea. :-)
Yes, I've been thinking about that and praying as often as I do for you, which is to say, not enough. I shall try to do better. :-)
P.S. You need to get a blog and, in addition to that, how about we start a joint blog about theology? I'd love to hold discourses about this, the most important science! :-)
Hehe, yeah I'm working on that... I don't know what it is with me and names but honestly I don't know what to do for a user name. Any suggestions oh thou who art most creatively minded? ;)
Me? Get my own blog? Haha, I can't even think up a user name, I certainly wouldn't know what to do with a blog. But a joint blog... I like the sound of that. I think we might could do that. Though, I must confess, my knowledge of the theological is somewhat limited. I have a ways to go before I reach the level of your mastery on the subject. ;)
