I'm interested in theology, philosophy, history, life, and wives. If you remain here long enough, you'll probably hear something about each of these things.

Preach it, brother!

Hey, polemic theology has its place, but there is nothing better than a positive assertion and application of the Glorious Gospel! I have found my perfect antidote to Hyper-Calvinism in Al Martin's "Repent or Perish!"

Isn't it wonderful to preach a Gospel that is as free as it is full?

"The old truth that Calvin preached, that Augustine preached, that Paul preached, is the truth that I must preach to-day, or else be false to my conscience and my God. I cannot shape the truth; I know of no such thing as paring off the rough edges of a doctrine. John Knox's gospel is my gospel. That which thundered through Scotland must thunder through England again."—C. H. Spurgeon

Good Stuff, Mr. Turtle!

It is frequently a thought of mine, what with all the various churches, denominations, non-denominations, positions, theories, statements and geographical culturalisms -- if we didn't have all those things from the past believers, what would our true faith and practice look like if all we had was the Word of God.

One person put it very well: The Bible doesn't need to be rewritten -- it needs to be reread.

Hang in there, Mr. Turtle, and keep digging in the truth of the Word of God. You're finding some real Gold in all that dirt and rock.

About Me

My photo
turtle believes his Bible, loves His God, and is being divinely conformed unto the image of God's Son, though if one were to think in terms of Romans 9, turtle would confess that he is a very stubborn and brittle piece of clay. thankfully, the Potter works omnipotently for turtle's good and shows him mercy and grace every day.
