I'm interested in theology, philosophy, history, life, and wives. If you remain here long enough, you'll probably hear something about each of these things.

Got it cheap on eBay; the purchase didn't require much thought, although as always, I should have prayed more over it. I do believe this to be one of the best expositions of Hebrews ever written, so I'm very happy about the purchase. John Owen is like a handful of rich ore: quite rich and profitable to ponder over, if you're willing to tolerate his prolixity, which can be quite discouraging at times.

I went to Office Max today and had his discourse on the Holy Spirit printed up @ 125% size; the text is giant, the upgrade was free, but they couldn't fit it into one spiral binding, so I had to split it up into two volumes, one with books 1, 2, & 3 and another with books 4 & 5, plus footnotes from them all, which makes up about 50 pages by itself. Altogether, it's about 781 pages long. I'm not sure whether this is horrible or exhilarating yet. :-s ;-)

I'm doing yet another book on automobiles in school, which I've been able to just skim for the most part, praise the Lord. I'm just about done with the second exam, of which there are - *shudders* - eight. Well, pray for me and I shall have no problem. :-)

Good enough, I say; go on now, have a Good day!

Well, ok, there's more. I stayed up rather late last night on account of my customary afternoon nap, so I spent some bored time looking up various subjects on the Internet I was interested.. things like "near-death experiences", "out of body experiences", and "glossolalia"( aka. speaking in tongues ). Most interesting of all was when I found a website with some videos of the various popular Charismatic "preachers"( Kenneth Hagin ), "healers"( Benny Hinn ), and/or "victims" as they "performed" their several "gifts". Ohhhhhhhh. :-\ Ohhhhhhhhhh.

It was absolutely revolting; they looked like addicts looking for the next occasion that they could get "high" off of the contagious bouts of laughter, full-body spasms, and nonsensical "words" that naturally seemed to spew from their mouths, as if their rational minds shut down and they did whatever came to mind, be it imitating a bugle call uncontrollably from the Christian pulpit, jeering at the other non-charismatic churches for their lack of "spirit", or making sundry animalistic sounds resembling that of cows, sheep, or crazed monkeys. One thing that was impressed upon me last night was that that was confusion, of which God is not the author. I do not believe the holy Apostles were swaying back and forth, as they preached with a slur on the day of Pentecost, nor do I believe that they spoke mumble-jumbo; I believe that they spoke lucidly in the 15 different languages of the people that were present that day. They were given power to speak in these languages; they were not possessed, as it were! When some said that they were full of "new wine", they merely spoke as unregenerate sinners about the Apostolic preaching of the cross!

"For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God." -1 Corinthians 1:18

Christianity is about doing God's will while here on Earth and praising Him in Heaven, not travelling to and fro, looking for the next "spiritual high" a "revival" has to offer you. If you want to see false revival contrasted with true revival, go no further, but listen to this. It is one of my favorite sermons although it makes me mad to hear about Finney. :-)

Well, alright, my opinion is known. Tell me about it.

Whip out those tests, young man! You can do it!
Those phony baloney preachers WILL pay for all their deception of the masses when God is ready to mete out His righteous judgement.
Love you!

It's funny how when you don't get healed from their mumbo-jumbo talking, they say that you do not have enough faith in them.

The only reliable source for worship, practice and results is the Word of God -- nothing more, nothing less. Every denomination and non-denomination claims to be closer or better than the others, but every single one of them have elements that are totally man-made that, in one form or another, glorify the people doing them rather than the One it is said to be done for.

Stick to the Word and leave the results to the Writer of the Word! He will bless and receive glory from that which is His!

We used to have a lady (I'll not mention her name)who used to come to our church that believed in all that stuff about speaking in tongues and all that stuff. It was kind of weird that while we'd be singing a song she'd be singing jibberish and I don't know what. What was really annoying was that she'd start her "talking in tongues" while someone was up praying and that could become rather distracting. I even worked for her for a while, but I'd usually bring my headphones and listen to a sermon while I worked. Thankfully, she is right now at another church that believes like she does. I'll have to tell you some of my other experiences sometime.
I agree about Charles Finney! I read something of his that was pretty good, but I wasn't too happy about his Arminianism.

She was very nice though, that lady.
