I'm interested in theology, philosophy, history, life, and wives. If you remain here long enough, you'll probably hear something about each of these things.

Well, we're back from Orlando! And boy-ee was it fun! Yay.

Ok.

Ah, now to what I really want to write! As we were driving down the road, I was reading.. reading one of the literally hundreds of books I now have on my computer, which today happened to be "A Display of Arminianism" by John Owen. Wow, this fellow is dense, but deeeeeeeeeeeeeeep! I really enjoyed the absolute siege he launched against the doctrines of Arminius & Co., a siege which he carried through successfully, I might add. Wow, this fellow is good! :-)

He quoted a lot of Augustine, a source I have found to be absolutely standard in matters concerning the freedom of the will or the soverignety of God in the saving of sinners. It makes me look at my set of his works a little differently, you might say! "Anti-Pelagianism Works", here I come! :-)

I just ordered Joseph Caryl's "Practical Observations on Job", which is his series of lectures on Job that, somewhat im-famously, lasted for some 25 years and are contained within 12 volumes!

About Me

My photo
turtle believes his Bible, loves His God, and is being divinely conformed unto the image of God's Son, though if one were to think in terms of Romans 9, turtle would confess that he is a very stubborn and brittle piece of clay. thankfully, the Potter works omnipotently for turtle's good and shows him mercy and grace every day.
