I'm interested in theology, philosophy, history, life, and wives. If you remain here long enough, you'll probably hear something about each of these things.

Well, we spent half of our day in Gadsden, Alabama, along with our friends there, namely the Rogers and the Crockers. It was great fun, of course; Brother Mike preached an excellent sermon on Romans about God's not "being a respecter of persons" or, as I rather expected him to reveal, about how God "regards no man's face", which is the literal interpretation of the Greek.

Just as an interesting piece of trivia, hyper-dispensationalists actually believe that James' talking about our kingdom ethic within the congregation, wherewith we are not to seat a rich man in golden apparel in the seat of honor among the congregation while sending a poor man to the back, so he wouldn't "spoil the picture" with his rags and such, refers to what will be enacted during the millennium, not to the current age, in which we're not bound by any such restrictions. :-\ True hyperists always afford room for laughter, don't they?

Well, anyway, let the pictures begin!

I dare say, wouldn't it appear we have some jollygood Pentecostals present? We did, we did, praise the Lord!

Brother Mike's library conjours awe and wonder again, without fail.. This, believe it or no, is only half of it!

Here is what I would consider his library's crown jewel, a large print 9-volume edition of Gill's commentaries! He jokingly told me he'd sell it to me, so I nearly bugged out when I first saw it this morning, but after I spent all afternoon wondering how I could come up with more than the $300 cash I've got on hand, he told me he wasn't so totally serious about selling it. Ho-hum. :-
Brother Stephen, looking well after all of his "beauty sleep" last night.. Ha, well, if that's how it works, it's no wonder Andrew and I looked the way we did today, for we only got about 5 or so hours of sleep. :-) We were listening to sermons from 12:30PM on, till we awoke the next morning on the same series which we started!

I can't quite figure it, but I believe Seth was either yarning about a fish he strangled some time ago or describing a particularily nasty trash bag he took out once. I don't quite recollect. :-)

Don't they make a pretty picture? Behold, the Crockers, minus Luke, and a certain church sister, the first name of whom I cannot remember!

Benjamin is doing well, from what I could tell, and is still single, just in case you're wondering. He's quite the gentleman & scholar, which facts make him quite da man a catch, in my opinion. As far as that goes, Stephen is too, I'm just remembering my thoughts as I go along. :-)

Well, fellows, it's 11:32 PM and I'm feeling relatively ghastly. Good night!

Too bad about that commentary set. I know you'd love that and would likely sell your left arm to get it.
It is wonderful to see my wonderful man dishing up some good eats while away from home.
I love you two. Take care and come home soon!
Love,
Mom

About Me

My photo
turtle believes his Bible, loves His God, and is being divinely conformed unto the image of God's Son, though if one were to think in terms of Romans 9, turtle would confess that he is a very stubborn and brittle piece of clay. thankfully, the Potter works omnipotently for turtle's good and shows him mercy and grace every day.
